I tried updating it in Safe Mode but once it gets to the part where I need to restart, it shuts off instead of restarting, like expected. Another problem it has is Rest Mode. So obviously there's something really wrong with this PS4. I should've exchanged it when I had the chance.
It shuts down, updates, loads, etc automatically. When I did an update to 4. It's working fine. You should have left it alone? Well every time I select "Update Now" and wait for it to reset, it just stays off. The first time I tried to do this it stayed off without turning itself on for like 10 minutes.
I hit the Power button and it turns on and gives me the prompt to update it, as if I never hit the update button before that. This is normal? Never mind I fixed it. Unplugging it and plugging it back in did the trick. Since I live in an area where warranty doesn't count, I decided to open up the console and I did clean it.
I have also rebuilt the database. The device is connected to a UPS. Tried to connect it directly without the UPS, but it still shuts off. Any hint on what else I should be trying? I can't send it to repair can't trust "repair" shops here. It's Iraq I would rather sell it and get the slim version, but I would love to try to fix the device. More than likely you have to get a power supply and install it it may have overheated and basically killed the power supply.

Works for me, hope it does for you. I just had this same problem weird thing is after my ps4 slim did it my sone came out an said his ps4 did same thing at same time.
Only connection therw is between our systens is both run through lan cable to same router an i gameshare on his ps4 with my account. Other than thout differnt wall outlets differnt rooms differnt accoubts signed in.
Leon Smith. I talked to the ps people and they said turn off your ps4 completely. This wasn't the exact solution for me, but it led me to one, so thanks!
I tried the database fix in safe mode, no luck, then I thought i'd try the reset video resolution option, and that did it. I was able to get the ps4 working in p mode, then p mode worked, which is all I need for the smaller tv this secondary ps4 is on. When I try p original ps4 it crashes every time it starts, or within a few minutes. No dust in the system. Same problem here. Just shuts off with no warning. Though when they released the 7.
Aaron Bouchard abouchard. Is there any signs of overheating? It seems the system may be getting too hot and shutting down to protect itself. Is the console hot I know its redundant for you being in iraq. It gets hot that's why I bought an external fan. Shouldn't it change the light to red before shutting down?
Mine doesn't. In most cases yes, it will warn you with a red light before shutting down, Is your ps4 in a non dusty area? If not the interneal fan may need cleaning. Now that we eliminated one issue, lets talk power. Do you lug it directly into a wall? I use a surge protector. If you do have yo tried other plugs? Show 1 more comment. Clara thumbeth. If you're still having this problem, go to [settings] then [initialization] then [initinalize system] and click [full initialization].

Boards PlayStation 4 Is it ok if i turn off the ps4 while something is downloading? User Info: fleshnbone User Info: peephole It will finish the download before you come back Before you attack my grammar I am a Dyslexic.

Switch it to standby mode instead, it should download and install things automatically in this mode anyway. In fact, I don't think you should turn it completely off ever. As long as you don't have a good reason to turn it off then I would keep it on standby.
